The Brethren of Bucks Province descended on Freemason’s Hall last Saturday 7th October for Provincial Grand Lodge – A great day was had by all!

Nearly 700 Buckinghamshire Freemasons arrived at Freemason’s Hall last Saturday as RW Bro John Clark hosted the annual Provincial Grand Lodge.

The first sesssion completed the Masonic business of the day, whilst the second public half was a celebration of what Freemasonry has achieved in the last year. This included Buckinghamshire raising and distributing over £1.2 million of charitable funds and initiating 406 new Freemasons.

It’s been a good year!

Andrew Mais had a particularly busy day as one of the Provincial Grand Stewards.

He was on duty at 8am and was still “working” at 6.30. It was a well earned pint as soon as he was “released” from duty 🙂

From escorting the PGM into Grand Lodge to accompanying the Brethren who received their promotions, it was a non-stop day for Andrew.

Well played Andrew – making sure Cestreham is superbly represented at Provincial Grand Lodge.

Current Worshipful Master Stephen Booker was the Cestreham standard bearer for the day. He “carried the flag” superbly.

It is always a proud day to be the Lodge standard bearer and Stephen follows in the footsteps of Derek Armson and Danny Peacock who have also carried the banner in recent years.

Three membeers of Cestreham received honours at Provincial Grand Lodge.

Derek Armson received his first “promotion” being appointed by RW Bro. John Clark as PProvAGDC, a great first appointment

Dick Chapman received further honours as he was promoted to PProvGSwdB and Alan Monk (who received his 60 year “long service” award in September) achieved PProvGSD.

Unfortunately Dick and Alan were unable to attend.

A greay day was had by all. After the meeting the Brethren retired to the Connaught Rooms for a sumptious Festive Board and some stunning entertainment from a superbly skilled violin trio. The Queen segue was quite remarkable!

At the end of the evening the Brethren caught trains, taxi’s and took cars with great memories of another outstanding Provincial Meeting – a true celebration of Freemasonry!
