Saturday 13th July saw recent Cestreham addition Danny Peacock climb into a tree and sit there for 24 hours.
It wasn’t some sort of “Swampy” protest as had been suggested though, it was all in a good cause!
Danny was raising funds for a local charitable support group, The Friends of Westfield. They are a parental group supporting Westfield School.
You can find the link to donate for Danny’s efforts just below.

This is a Primary age special school which caters for children experiencing difficulties in Communication and Interaction. It is expected that the vast majority of the pupils have a diagnosis of ASD (Autistic Spectrum Difficulties) alongside other difficulties such as anxiety, sensory processing, ADHD, (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and dyspraxia, for example.
Danny has a 9-year-old son, Lewis, who is a pupil at Westfield so Danny is keen to support them and the great work that they do.
Visit the school website to learn more about the fantastic work this local special school does for children across the High Wycombe area.

This climb was facilitated by The Wheel, who lent us their Willow Tree in the car park for the weekend. Huge thanks to Claire and Mark for supporting Danny and this great cause.
Brethren from the Lodge were present to encourange Danny up the tree with Lodge stalwart Peter Harborne and current Master Derek Armson in attendance (with beer).
Mike Beckley and his wife Anne and Mark Heron with partner Gemma were also in attendance.
Danny descended just after 1pm on Sunday lunchtime.
We’ll be adding some more pictures and videos soon.
